Guide to help beat loneliness
A NEW guide to help older people beat loneliness was launched this week.
The What's on Where? guide — WOW for short — is being published by Home Instead Senior Care Rotherham.
The guide, which is being launched by the Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr John Foden, at Rotherham Visitor’s Centre, which receives a large number of enquiries about local groups for older people
The Rotherham WOW Guide will list regular events primarily aimed at older people, including coffee mornings, lunch clubs and exercise sessions.
It will also promote the Alzheimer’s Society Rotherham and Rotherham Dementia Alliance and their Memory Cafes for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
The guide will be available from community centres, doctors and dentists and will be updated and expanded depending on its popularity.
