GREEN bin collections will go monthly from December, council officials said this week.
The green bin garden waste collection will continue through the winter months but change to a monthly collection from December until March 2013.
The Blue Box, Blue Bag and black bin collection will not be affected and will continue to be collected on alternative weeks through out the year.
Households across the borough will, as in previous years receive a weekly black bin collection over the Christmas and New Year fortnight.
The Blue Box, Blue Bag will still be collected over this period in the usual week.
Information on collection dates of all the kerbside collections, the alterations to the green garden waste collection and the additional black bin collection over the Christmas Holiday period will be published on a waste collection calendar, will be distributed to each household next month.
The calendar will also advise if there is an change to a households normal collection date over the Christmas and New Year fortnight.
Residents are reminded that cardboard is now collected along with the paper in their blue bag.
If a piece of cardboard is too big for the bag it can be folded and placed under the blue bag for collection.
