Grassland fire in Herringthorpe was deliberate

GRASSLAND in Herringthorpe was deliberately set alight last night (Thursday).

Firefighters from Dearne station were called to the arson attack on Herringthorpe Valley Road at 7.10pm and left the scene at 8pm, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

A crew from Doncaster was called to a bin that was deliberately set alight on Sycamore Road, Eastwood, at 7.40pm and spent 40 minutes at the scene, added the spokesperson.

And crews from Rotherham and Doncaster stations were called to an arson attack involving wood chippings on Cadeby Lane, Denaby, at 7.10pm. They left the scene at 9.30pm.
