Grassland and rubbish set alight in Treeton and North Anston

GRASSLAND and rubbish was torched in Treeton and North Anston overnight.

Aston firefighters were called out to the grassland fire on Archers Way, Treeton, at 8.15pm and left the scene by 9.35pm.

Just after 11pm, a crew from Aston was called out again - to a rubbish fire on Houghton Road, North Anston.

They left the scene at 11.40pm.

The cause of both fires is believed to be deliberate, a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.
