Grass fire causes extra damage after spreading to fence

AN ACCIDENTAL fire spreading fast caused damage to a property in Dalton last night.

Firefighters were called to Foljambe Drive, Dalton, at 1.10am, and upon arrival they found some pampas grass had caught light, with the fire spreading to a nearby fence and causing damage to the windows of a property.

This was dealt with by 1.42am and is thought to have started accidentally.

Fire crews from Dearne were called to Crofton Drive, Bolton-upon-Dearne, at 9.44pm where they found a pile of rubbish and aluminium window frames well alight.

This was dealt with by 10.30pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.
