Goldthorpe man who went on "violent rampage" jailed
Danny Lee Green (22), of Welfare View, Goldthorpe, rode his motorbike around the village one night last March, threatening people with a baton.
He chased a man, thought to be known to him, into the BP garage on Barnsley Road.

Hide AdPolice said the victim hid behind the shop counter, while Green threatened staff with the weapon before smashing a window.
Half an hour later, Green was fighting outside the Rusty Dudley pub on Doncaster Road, where he broke another man’s arm with the illegal baton.
Six days later, police found him hiding on a Goldthorpe allotment.
Green appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday (May 2) where he was due to stand trial for three days.

Hide AdBut Green entered guilty pleas to assault, possession of an offensive weapon and criminal damage, earning him four years and two months behind bars.
PC Andrew Cliffe, from Barnsley CID, described the incident as “a violent rampage” and “a traumatic incident for those involved".
He added: “Through extensive CCTV analysis and descriptions from witnesses, Green was quickly identified as the offender.
“Wanted markers were placed on him and traffic markers on his motorbike, on the national police database.

Hide Ad“Six days later, through further information and intelligence gathered, we arrested Green at an allotment in Goldthorpe, where he was found trying to hide in a shed.
“I’m pleased we’ve been able to bring Green before the courts and that he has been handed a substantial sentence for his crimes.”
