Go-kart set alight next to industrial building

Firefighters from Maltby and Edlington stations were called to reports of heavy smoke in the Apy Hill Lane area just after 2.45pm yesterday (Sunday).

A fire service spokesperson said: “Upon arrival they found a fire involving a petrol go kart and some tyres. 

“This fire was starting to spread up the side of an industrial unit. This was dealt with by 6.36pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.”

A Ford Fiesta was deliberately set alight on West Lane at Aughton on Friday evening.
