The 22-year-old Dane has joined the League One Millers on a season-long loan from Leicester City.

Once again, Rotherham's attention to detail has paid off, with the deal being finalised after they sent a delegation including goalkeeper coach Mike Pollitt to Leicester to give a presentation on how Iversen would fit in at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

"Daniel has been our number-one target since the end of last season," said manager Paul Warne.

"Leicester wanted to see him in pre-season before allowing him out so we have had to wait, but we believe he will be worth it."

The Millers landed Newcastle United's Dan Barlaser earlier this month after Warne and coach Matt Hamshaw travelled up the A1 to sell their vision for the midfielder to the Magpies.

Iversen, 6ft 4in tall, is set to make his debut in tomorrow evening's friendly against West Bromwich Albion which sees the return to New York of centre-half/midfielder Semi Ajayi who has just joined the Baggies in a move potentially worth more than £2 million to Rotherham.

A Denmark youth international, he is highly rated at the Kingpower Stadium and spent last season on loan at Oldham Athletic.

He trained with his new teammates today.

There could be two more New York arrivals and a departure this week.
