BUILDING is to start this year on 47 new homes for rent in Rotherham and North Anston.
The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), the national housing and regeneration delivery agency for England has confirmed funding for the homes.
Rob Pearson, head of area at the agency said: “It is excellent news for local residents in the Rotherham area that we are able to provide funding for 47 new homes to be completed over the next two years. We have worked with our partners to identify their housing priorities and to ensure that we are able to give best value for money.
“All the construction work will start this year on the new homes for rent that will help meet the different housing needs of local residents.”
These homes are being funded through the National Affordable Housing Programme as a part of a £44 million investment across Yorkshire and The Humber to meet the specific needs of different communities.
The investment will be made to both local authorities and Registered Providers of Social Housing to ensure that people are able to live in the communities of their choice and local authorities can meet the needs of their local residents as effectively as possible.
