LATERAL flow tests are available at libraries as part of the Government’s Community Collect offer also running at pharmacies and national testing sites.
Rotherham public health director Ben Anderson said: “With increased social interaction, we expect to see a rise in cases, especially in unvaccinated groups.
“Whilst maintaining social distance, handwashing and the use of face coverings in crowded places continue to be our main defences against transmission, it will also be important to identify cases early and for those people to follow the isolation guidance.
“Ensuring the wide availability of lateral flow testing will make regular home testing accessible to all of us as we increase our interactions and return to more normal lives.”
Each kit comes with seven individual tests and instructions.
The libraries offering the service are: Aston, Kimberworth, Kiveton, Maltby, Mowbray Gardens, Rawmarsh, Swinton, Thorpe Hesley and Thurcroft. Others will be added as they reopen.
