'Give yourself up,' plea to extradition fugitive

POLICE have requested help from the public in their search for a 41-year-old man facing extradition to Portugal.

Stuart Worsley is wanted after failing to answer bail.

His extradition to Portugal was ordered in connection with burglary and assault offences committed in Lagos last year.

Worsley is originally from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, but police have spread heir search in the hope of locating him.

He is described as being white, 5ft 9in tall, with a medium build and brown hair.

Insp Rob Settle, of North Yorkshire Police Tasking and Logistics Unit, said: “Stuart, if you see or hear this appeal I very strongly advise you to hand yourself in to the nearest police station immediately.

“This is not an issue that will go away. We will not stop the search for you until you are in custody.

“I am also appealing to anyone who may know where Stuart Worsley is, to contact the police or Crimestoppers immediately.

“If you are protecting Worsley you are not helping him, indeed you are only delaying the inevitable outcome.”

Anyone who can help to locate Stuart Worsley is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police by dialling 101 and selecting option 1 before passing on information to the Force Control Room.
