A YOUNG girl is in hospital after being struck by a car on Herringthorpe Valley Road this morning.
Emergency services were called at about 7.50am after a green Vauxhall Corsa collided with the 12-year-old.
An eyewitness saw a child being treated at the side of the road, covered with a blanket.
A police spokeswoman said the extent of her injuries was “not yet known”, but “they are not believed to be life-threatening”.
Officers are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to call 101, quoting incident number 184 of September 20.
