TICKETS are selling fast for the Chamber of Commerce’s Rotherham President’s Charity Ball, with over 300 guests already preparing to sample the delights of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed event.
The award-winning ball is on Saturday, May 15 at Magna, where guests will be loose in the psychedelic wonderland of the chocolate factory—sponsored by UK Coal.
The event will be Chris MacCormac's first ball as Rotherham President and he said:
“I'm delighted that so many people have already booked their places to support local charities and put something back into the Rotherham community. I hope to see many more joining in the fun.
“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a fantastic theme and we are working hard planning a night of total escapism and fantasy for our guests, where they can enjoy brilliantly-executed entertainment with good food and company—all for good causes.”
He added: “Please remember this is not a money making event for the Chamber, it is to raise money for local charities.
“These are causes which really need our help, therefore, any contribution you can make is greatly appreciated, not only by the Chamber, but also by those people in our community who will benefit from your generosity.”
The ball has become a much loved highlight of the Chamber events calendar and
was honoured with the 2008 Corporate Event of the Year prize in the prestigious Yorkshire Business Insider Business Tourism Awards.
The winning theme was Around the World in 80 Days and guests embarked on a journey around the globe, following in the footsteps of Phileas Fogg and his trusty companion Passepartout.
Last year's ball celebrated the centenary of the Chamber in Rotherham with a trip back through time, starting in 2009 and finishing in Edwardian-themed 1909.
As the journey unfolded, people were able to experience the sights and sounds of the different eras of the Chamber's lifetime.
Tickets for this year's Ball are priced at £60 plus VAT (£550 plus VAT for a table of ten) and can be booked by calling 0844 414 5100 or online on the events section of www.brchamber.co.uk.
