Get on your bike for guided TPT rides

CYCLISTS are invited to get on their bikes and rediscover a newly-reopened part of the Trans Pennine Trail.

Two six-mile guided rides will start at New York Stadium, heading along the TPT to Meadowhall and back.

The first starts at 12.30pm on Tuesday, August 29, taking around one hour. The second will begin at 1.45pm.

Organised by Love to Ride, to promote Cycle September, the event is supported by Rotherham United and Rotherham Active Bike Hub.

Participants can try out a traditional or electric bike before the rides or get a free check-up of their own wheels, before setting off.

Those going on the guided rides must bring their own bicycles.

The event is free of charge and open to all. The route is flat and shorter rides may be available, on request.
