Georgie Kelly at the double as Rotherham United win overseas friendly

GEORGIE Kelly struck twice as Rotherham United got the better of Fleetwood Town in a private friendly at their summer training camp in Croatia.

The Irish forward's brace took his goals tally to four in three games, including his strike against Parkgate last week and in the promotion-clinching win at Gillingham on their final day of last season.

In last night's shortened match against Scott Brown's League One side, Kelly scored either side of the break. He finished off good work from Conor Washington for the first and then slotted a penalty earned by Peter Kioso.

Manager Paul Warne said: "I'm really pleased with how it went. My intention was to play 60 minutes in total because we only really had 14 outfield players to select from but we ended up playing 70.

"It is probably the most competitive 70 minutes that the lads have had. You can train with intensity but there were proper tackles going in — maybe even more than both managers wanted, truth be told!"

The Millers will have a light training session today before returning home tomorrow ahead of away friendlies at Harrogate Town on Tuesday (7.45pm) and Salford City on Wednesday (7pm).

Millers: Johansson, Wood (Bramall), Odoffin, Harding, Kioso (Humphreys), Barlaser (Hull), Lindsay, Rathbone, Bola, Washington, Kelly.
