GARDEN waste collections will resume on Monday, Rotherham Council has confirmed.
The brown bin service has been on a six-week break because of staff absences at the authority.
But residents can put out their garden waste bin on the usual collection day from next week.
Cllr Emma Hoddinott, cabinet member for waste, said: “Over the past few weeks, the council has been working hard to get the garden waste service back on track.
“I’m extremely grateful to the staff who are able to support the waste services so that we can resume the garden waste collections.
“These are unprecedented times and I'd also like to thank residents for their patience and understanding.”
The council has asked residents to hold onto any additional waste which does not fit in the brown bin until the next collection.
Compensation will be arranged for the six-week break in service, RMBC added.
In another development, households can now recycle Tetra-paks in their black bin, along with glass, cans, and plastic bottles, tubs and trays.
