Garage arson attack spreads to Dearne Valley building

A DELIBERATE garage fire spread to a larger nearby building in the Dearne Valley last night (Tuesday).

Three fire crews were called to Tickhill Square in Denaby Main at 7pm to tackle the arson attack.

The deliberate garage fire spread to the roof of a larger building located behind the garage, said a fire service spokesman.

“Crews made entry into the larger building to extinguish the fire, which was in roof timbers,” he added.

Firefighters left the scene at 7.26pm. No further information was known about the building.

Arsonists also torched rubbish in Westfield Road, Brampton Bierlow, at 8.37pm. A crew from Barnsley station was at the scene until 9pm.
