GALLERY: Bluebell Wood's Soapbox Derby in Clifton Park
By Gareth Dennison | 21/05/2019
THERE were thrills — and occasional spills — as crazy costumes and colourful karts filled Clifton Park for Bluebell Wood's Soapbox Derby on Saturday.
Around 40 teams competed as thousands of spectators watched and £12,000 was raised for the children’s hospice.
Winners Axles of Awesome completed the Clifton Park 400-metre course quickest in 43 seconds — after building their kart in a garage using tips from YouTube.
Dearne’s Demons, a team formed by Wath company Dearne Electrical, were quickest through the speedtrap and second overall.
