Further misery for Tram Train users as bridge inspection cancelled again

THE Tram Train service will remain suspended today (Thursday) after a planned bridge inspection was cancelled for a second time.

Stagecoach Supertram had hoped to send a dive team into the River Don today to check the integrity of a bridge at Tinsley following recent flooding.

There have been no Tram Trains since Rotherham Central station flooded at the weekend and, while the floodwater at the station has now cleared, there have been concerns over potential damage to the tram bridge.

Stagecoach Supertram, which has said it will not operate Tram Trains until the inspection has taken place, cancelled the planned check of the bridge today, for a second time, because the river is unsuitable for an underwater inspection.
