The Summer Fun event will be held next Wednesday, July 28, between 11am and 2pm at Phoenix Park in Thurnscoe.

There will also be arts and crafts, including dinosaur and fossil workshops and rock painting, heritage activities, a labyrinth trail, den building and a woodland dragon trail.

“It’s great to see so many different organisations working together to provide a fantastic free family day out,” said Julie Turner (pictured) from Dearne Churches Together, one of the organisers of the event.

“There will be free snacks and drinks available and we’re encouraging everyone to bring their own picnic and enjoy a day out with loads for kids to do.

“The summer holidays can be an expensive time for families, but this is a chance to enjoy this beautiful outdoor space on our doorstep and take part in lots of different activities, with something for everyone.”

For further information, contact Julie Turner on 07729 421405 or email julie@gpcchurch.co.uk.

The park’s car park will be closed on the day, although some parking will be available on Barrowfield Road.
