Neil Etchell (38) and James Dudds (39) are planning to walk from Doncaster to Scarborough next week to raise cash for brain injury charity Headway.

The pair, who are both from Clifton, hope to complete the trek along the Trans-Pennine Trail in four or five days.

And they will be shunning the luxurt of B&Bs along the way, with Neil promising the walkers planned to "rough it" when it came to sleeping.

Neil said the charity was close to his heart as it had supported him after he suffered a head injury when he was attacked seven years ago.

“I have trouble filling forms in and other things and they have helped me with that,” he said.

“They also put me in touch with the right people when I needed them to.

“This is my chance to give them something back.”
