Free parking to provide weekend business boost
FREE weekend parking has been extended to boost businesses as Rotherham town centre comes out of restrictions.
Saturday charges have been removed from all 12 RMBC off-street car parks — as an addition to Sundays which are already free except for Wellgate multi-storey.
Simon Moss, the council’s assistant director for planning, regeneration and transport, said: “Covid-19 restrictions have led to financial difficulties for many of our residents and businesses.
“This is a practical way we can help them as restrictions ease and people find ways to go about daily life safely.”
