Frack free group shows protest film in Wath

PROTESTERS will stage a screening of anti-fracking film tonight (Wednesday) as they step up their fight against the controversial energy production method.

Frack Free Dearne Valley will show Groundswell Rising — a documentary looking at the lives of people who live near fracking sites — at Wath’s Montgomery Hall from 7pm.

Group member Jacky Westwood said: “There have been two licences issued by the Government for fracking within the area of the Dearne Valley and for this reason the group felt it was important to show the film so people would know what effect the industry would have.”

The event is free of charge but donations will be invited the group’s campaign funds.
