Four Rotherham healthcare teams up for national NHS awards

FOUR healthcare teams from Rotherham have been shortlisted in a national awards scheme recognising staff achievements in the NHS.

Rotherham Hospital staff are in the running for honours in facilities and estate management, acute service designs, workforce efficency and clinical imaging categories of the 2019 Health Service Journal Value Awards.

Louise Barnett, chief executive at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, said having four of their projects being recognised nationally for awards was “fantastic”.

She added: “We are extremely proud of our teams and the dedication they have to improving the care they provide to our patients.

“Each of the shortlisted projects has had a positive impact on our patients and their experience whilst in hospital. I wish them all the best of luck for the next stage of judging.”

Successes recognised by the nominations include work to ensure the best nutrition for patients, improvement to X-ray services, and efforts to support patients to return home as soon as possible.

The shortlisted teams will present their projects and initiatives to a panel of judges in April, with the winners being announced at an awards ceremony in May.
