Four injured after 'unprovoked attack' at Aston pub

FOUR people were injured while watching football at a pub in Aston following a "violent, unprovoked attack".

At around 9.50pm on July 11, police received reports of an altercation between two groups of people at the Yellow Lion Pub on Worksop Road, during the Euro 2020 final.

They said that four people had been injured by a group of unknown offenders - it is still unclear as to how many attackers were involved.

PC Alex Smith, the officer leading the investigation, said: "This was a violent, unprovoked attack that has understandably left the victims shaken.

"I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may know those responsible, to contact police."

Anyone with information which could assist the police with their enquiries is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 1059 of July 11.

Information can also be passed anonymously to CrimeStoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
