Four crews tackle fire at Dearne Valley pub

FOUR fire crews tackled a fire at a Dearne Valley pub last night (Tuesday).

The fire broke out at 6.30pm in Church Street, Wombwell, and crews from Dearne, Cudworth, Barnsley and Tankersley stations attended.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the pub was believed to have been derelict and known as The Alma.

The fire on the first floor of the building was dealt with by 7.55pm.
