Forge Island Covid-19 testing site closed after flooding warning

The main Covid-19 test site was rapidly dismantled yesterday afternoon over fears that the town centre car park could flood.

A spokesperson for Rotherham Council said the site had been closed as a precaution and asked people booking a test to use the Covid-19 testing site at Midland Road instead.

They said it was currently unclear when the site would be put back up and reopened, but added that the area had an amber weather warning from the Met Office in place until noon tomorrow (Thursday).
