Food store robbed by men with sledgehammer and crowbars

ROBBERS armed with a sledgehammer and crowbars threatened staff and stole cash from a mini supermarket.

Three men broke into the Heron Foods store on Doncaster Road in East Dene at about 8pm on Saturday, May 27.

They left in a dark grey Audi A7 with a large amount of money and food stamps, South Yorkshire Police said.

A spokesman added: “No one was hurt in the incident but damage was caused to the store and the employees were left frightened and distressed.

“Officers investigating the reported burglary have carried out extensive enquiries and have now released the images of these men as they believe they will be able to assist them with their enquiries.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact 101 quoting incident 1087 of June 27. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
