Food left on hob causes kitchen fire in Conisbrough

A KITCHEN fire in Conisbrough over the weekend was caused by food being left on an electric hob, fire officials say.

Firefighters from Edlington and Rotherham were called to Barton Place at 3.15pm on Sunday afternoon. 

On arrival, they had found a kitchen fire had started when the occupier left his food on an electric hob, said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

"Nobody was injured in the fire and was dealt with by 4.54pm," she added.
