FLOODING: Four River Don warnings and more rain forecast

FOUR flood warnings have been issued for the River Don meaning flooding is expected in Rotherham - and more rain is forecast for the next 24 hours.

The Environment Agency said the river level had risen as a result of persistent heavy rainfall and property and roads were expected to flood today (Thursday).

"Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours and we expect river levels to remain high until 9am tomorrow," said the agency.

It issued warnings for the Rawmarsh Road and Grafton Bridge area, Corporation Street and Sheffield Road, and Thorn Hill, Northfield, Parkgate Shopping, Main Street, Centenary Way and Masbrough Street.
