Flasher targeting Rotherham schoolgirls

POLICE are appealing for information to help trace a man who may have repeatedly exposed himself to schoolgirls at bus stops.

Officers want help from residents in Kimberworth and Clifton following six reports of almost identical incidents in the area since March last year.

All six instances involved female victims aged between ten and 15, all of whom were wearing school uniform at the time.

Three of the victims have been able to provide descriptions which made the creation of  e-fit images possible.

The most recent incident occurred on at around 8.35am on May 23, at a bus stop near to the Psalters Lane junction with Kimberworth Road. 

A police spokesman said: “An 11-year-old girl reported to police that the man approached her at the bus stop and exposed himself to her while shielding his actions from the road with a black briefcase.”

The man believed to be responsible for all six incidents is between 30 and 50 years-old, 5ft 8in to 6ft tall and of slim build.

He is described as having a pale complexion with distinctive wrinkles around his mouth and eyes and has short, possibly dark grey or brown, hair.

He has been described as of smart appearance wearing a high- visibility fluorescent sleeveless jacket.

A police spokesman added: “Officers do not believe that the man has made any attempt to physically harm or abduct the girls, but they are very concerned that this person is specifically targeting young schoolgirls and are appealing for anyone who may know who is doing this to contact the police immediately.”
