Five now in police custody after murder at Mexborough

POLICE investigating the murder of a 20-year-old man in Mexborough have made another two arrests.

A total of five people are now in custody after the fatal shooting of Lewis Williams on Monday afternoon.

Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), a 20-year-old man from Rotherham was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

And a 23-year-old man from the Doncaster area was arrested this morning on suspicion of murder.

Three others — a 20-year-old man and boys aged 16 and 17 — were arrested earlier on suspicion of murder.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact 101 quoting incident 495 of January 11.
