Five in custody after house shot at in West Melton

Shots were fired at a property on New Winterwell Road, causing damage to a window and the inside of the home, at 11pm last night, a police spokeswoman said.

Four men, aged 41, 30, 48, and 40, and a boy (17) have all been arrested in connection with the incident.

Insp Caroline Bakewell said: "There will be an increased number of officers in the West Melton area today as enquiries continue.

"I know incidents like this can cause concern amongst communities.

"If you have any concerns, please do speak to one of the officers, they are there to help."
