Five in court on drug-dealing charges

FIVE men — four of them from Rotherham — have appeared in court accused of conspiring to supply class A drugs.

Robert Cox (45) and John Brittle (35), both of Fitzwilliam Road, Eastwood; Bradley Campbell (20) of Park Close, Moorgate; Lee Edwards (37) of St Leonard’s Place, St Ann’s all appeared at Sheffield Crown Court this morning to answer the charges.

They were joined in the dock by Kyle Mehmet (32) of Westfield in Sheffield.

Each faces two counts of conspiracy — one to supply cocaine between September and October of 2017 and one to supply diamorphine between the same dates.

Mehmet, Cox, Campbell and Brittle all pleaded not guilty to both counts.

Lawyers acting for Edwards said they would seek the dismissal of his case.

Judge Sarah Wright set the trial to begin on July 16.

It is expected to take five days.
