Five fires involving vehicles over the weekend

FIREFIGHTERS attended four deliberate vehicle fires — and an accidental one — over the weekend.

Dearne station responded to a call about a moped set alight on Deightonby Street, Thurnscoe, at 7pm on Friday.

A car was set alight on Ingsfield Lane, Bolton-on-Dearne, at 9:40pm, also dealt with by Dearne station.

Firefighters from Edlington attended a car fire at Duke Avenue at Maltby about half an hour later.

An abandoned caravan was set alight at Limekiln Lane, Maltby, at 2.15am on Saturday. This was attended by Maltby station.

And Edlington firefighters dealt with an accidental blaze involving a quad bike at Colliery Road in Denaby Main at 11.55am on Saturday.
