Fishing gear worth up to £5,000 stolen in Rawmarsh burglary

THOUSANDS of pounds' worth of fishing gear - including 11 rods and a kit box - was stolen in a burglary in Rawmarsh.

The break-in happened in Coronation Road overnight on April 2 to 3, with equipment worth between £3,000 and £5,000 being stolen, a police spokeswoman said.

The thief took seven Daiwa fishing rods with black with gold lettering, four Shimano reels and a Daiwa fishing box with black with gold lettering.

Police want to speak to anyone who might have been in the area at the time, saw or heard anything suspicious, knows who might have been responsible, or has seen similar items for sale.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting crime reference number 14/54560/21.
