A FIREWORK was deliberately used to set rubbish alight and a van was torched in Wombwell last night.

Firefighters from Dearne station were called out to Aldham House Lane at 8.10pm.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said a firework had been deliberately used to set fire to rubbish and leaves.

"The crew left the scene after 20 minutes," she added.

Then in the early hours of this morning, a crew from Cudworth station were called out to Wombwell Lane at 3.40am to a van deliberately set on fire.
