Firefighters tackle two Thurcroft arson attacks in six hours

TWO grassland fires which broke out in Thurcroft over a six-hour period were started by arsonists.

The first incident was on Steadfolds Lane at 7.55pm last night (Tuesday) and was brought under control by firefighters within an hour.

Firefighters were at the scene of the second grassland blaze on Green Arbour Road for four hours after being called to the scene at 2.30am today.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said both blazes were started deliberately.
