A HOMEOWNER had to be taken to hospital after one of two house fires over the weekend.
Firefighters were called to a property on Flanderwell Lane, Sunnyside, at around 10.30pm on Friday.
A spokeswoman said the blaze was caused by “smoking material” and the occupier was taken to hospital “as a precaution”.
Crews were also called to a fire at a property on Ferham Road, at around 1.30pm on Saturday.
The spokeswoman said the first-floor was “well alight” when firefighters arrived.
No-one was injured in the incident but an investigation had been launched into its cause, she added.
