Firefighters tackle four deliberate blazes overnight

Firefighters from across the town were called out to tackle four deliberate blazes overnight.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said a crew from Aston station dealt with a deliberate bin fire at 7:40pm on Plantation Avenue, Dinnington, leaving at 8:25pm, before firefighters from the same station tackled a car deliberately set on fire at 9pm at Lindrick Common. The incident had been dealt with by 9:55pm, they added.

A fire crew from Edlington station were then called out to a deliberate van fire on Cadeby Road, Sprotbrough at 10.30pm, with firefighters leaving the scene at 11:30pm.

In the early hours Rotherham firefighters tackled a deliberate rubbish fire on Canklow Road, Canklow at 4am, with the crew leaving 20 minutes later.
