Firefighters tackle blaze at aluminium plant
FOUR fire crews tackled a blaze at an aluminium plant in Northfield in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
Firefighters from Rotherham, Elm Lane, Dearne and Parkway stations were called to Northfield Aluminium, Northfield Road, at 3.43am after a fire in the furnace became out-of-control, a spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.
Crews left the scene at 5.08am and the fire started accidentally, he added.
