Firefighters put out camp fire in Maltby

FIREFIGHTERS were called to Maltby last night (Monday) to extinguish a camp fire.

A crew from Maltby station went to Addison Road at 9.20pm and spent 20 minutes putting out the flames, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

The spokeswoman was not able to confirm whether the fire was at someone's home or the reason the firefighters had been called, however, she advised that no fires at all should be lit during the hot weather.

The spokeswoman added that the fire had been started deliberately.
