FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a blaze in Holmes which damaged two recycling lorries.

FIREFIGHTERS have put out a fire in Holmes which damaged two recycling lorries.

Crews from Rotherham, Elm Lane and Birley stations were called to Psalters Lane at 5.30am today (Wednesday) to reports of two heavy goods vehicles on fire, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

They used hose reels to put out the fire and left the scene at around 9.50am, she added.

The fire is understood to have been at W Maw Skip Hire and Recycling.
