Firefighters attend two arson attacks and a flat fire

THREE large recycling bins and a lorry were targeted by arsonists over the weekend.

The bin fire was started at 11.15pm on Friday night (24) in Montgomery Square, Wath.

A crew from Dearne station attended the scene and left just before midnight.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said a lorry was torched at 6.40am on Saturday morning (25) on Fullerton Road, Canklow. 

Two engines from Rotherham station were at the scene for 30 minutes.

Firefighters also attended a cooking fire in a flat on Pleasley Road, Whiston, at 5.10am on Sunday (26).

The fire was contained to the grill pan area of the cooker and two crews from Rotherham station left the scene after 30 minutes.
