Fire service rescue casualty from bus after early morning crash in Wickersley

FIREFIGHTERS extracted a casualty from a bus this morning (Friday) after it was in collision with a car in Wickersley.

Emergency services were called at around 6.40am following reports of a collision in Morthen Road.

“It is understood that a double-decker bus was involved in a collision with a parked car,” said a South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman.

“At this time, it's thought one person on the bus suffered minor injuries.”

Two fire crews attended the scene at 7.15am and extracted one casualty from the bus, said a fire service spokeswoman.

“It is unclear at this time whether they were a passenger or the driver,” she added.

Crews from Maltby and Rotherham stations left the scene at 7.35am.

Police closed the road while the bus was being recovered and it was due to reopen soon
