Fire in entrance to Wingfield flat

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze in the entrance to a flat in Wingfield.

Crews from Rotherham, Elm Lane and Dearne stations attended Roughwood Road on Saturday night.

They were there for 35 minutes and a fire service spokeswoman confirmed it had been started deliberately.

Earlier on Saturday, at about 2am, a van was deliberately set alight at Falconer Lane in Fence.
