Fire crews tackle two-hour bungalow blaze

THREE fire crews tackled a two-hour blaze at a bungalow fire in Wombwell in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters from Dearne, Cudworth and Barnsley stations were called at 1.50am to the bungalow on Copeland Road, with the occupant already out of the house when crews arrived.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked quickly to extinguish the fire.”

The crews left the scene at 3:50am.
