Fire crews tackle three arson strikes in four hours last night

FIRE crews were called to deal with three arson attacks around the borough in just over four hours last night (Thursday).

Firefighters from Edlington station were called The Crescent at 7.30pm where a mattress had been dumped in the street and set alight.

A car was left burnt out after being torched on Magna Lane, Dalton, at 9.40pm. Firefighters from Rotherham station were at the scene for an hour.

The same crew was then called to a deliberate blaze in Westgate at 11.40pm after rubbish was set alight. They left the scene at 12.30pm.
