Fire crews tackle arson attacks and car blaze

FIREFIGHTERS put out a small refuse fire in Goldthorpe yesterday.

A small appliance attended William Street at around 6.15pm, finding a small amount of grass and rubbish alight.

Staff left the scene around ten minutes later — the fire is thought to have been started deliberately.

One crew from Cudworth station visited Dearne Road, Bolton-on-Dearne last night, where more refuse was ablaze.

Staff arrived at 8.40pm, leaving around one hour later. The fire is also thought to have been set deliberately.

Another crew attended a vehicle blaze in Kimberworth this morning.

Staff from Rotherham station visited Old Wortley Road at around 5.15am, when the unidentified vehicle was alight.

They left the scene around half an hour later — the fire is thought to have started accidentally.
