Fire crews fight car and house blazes

FIREFIGHTERS attended several fires last night and this morning.

Four crews attended a house fire on Haythorne Way, Swinton at around 2am.

The blaze had affected two properties — one occupied and one derelict.

It started in a shed, before spreading up the walls and on to the roofs.

Two crews from Dearne station, one from Rotherham and one from Edlington tackled the fire, and left the scene at around 4am.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

Staff from Aston station visited Littlefield Road, Dinnington at around 2am, where an industrial bin was alight.

They left the scene at around 2.40am — the fire is thought to have been deliberate.

Two teams, from Aston Park and Birley Moor, were called to Manor Road, Wales at 6.40am.

Three cars and a caravan were alight, the cause of which is under investigation. Staff left the scene at around 8am
